## Our Story OpenBrIM platform started with the [FHWA research project "Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) Using Open Parametric Objects"](https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/pubs/hif16010.pdf) in 2012, with the goal of creating an open and collaborative information modeling environment, where: Information owners create and maintain information intuitively in both machine and human readable format; and AEC community consume this information via open and efficient protocols. OpenBrIM Platform's development and support is currently lead by Ali Koc & Cagin Yakar, bringing in 30 years of experience in managing engineering software development projects at LARSA; and supporting bridge engineering community at large. Our management team has over 50 years of combined experience in civil engineering and software development projects -- set out to support the growth of the AEC industry both in US and abroad.
