## What is OpenBrIM Library?

OpenBrIM Library provides definitions for all things engineering - deck components, signs, barriers, traffic conditions, rules, and regulations. It's where new standards are developed by the bridge community - the actual users with the most knowledge about various bridge components.

##### Library Components

Bridge structures are collections of individual components - deck, barriers, girders, bearings, piers, and abutments. Each can be defined with minimum data parameters to completely describe it.

##### Digital Twin Creation

Complete bridge models are developed by combining standard components into an assembly. Hundreds of components work together to properly account for bridge complexity.

##### OpenBrIM.Incubator

A free and open environment requiring no licensing. Anyone can create an account and start creating or using content immediately under the author's name.

##### OpenBrIM.Library

While Incubator is open to everyone, Library contains monitored and selected objects that have been verified and extensively used by the community.

##### Development

All objects created by authors have the initial status "In Development". When adequately developed and fully documented, the author can change status to "Proposed" for review.

##### Proposed

Object is open for community review. All comments are emailed to the author and recorded in the Discussions section. When resolved, it's submitted to the OpenBrIM board.

##### Accepted

Object is accepted by the OpenBrIM board towards standardization. Board members are selected from the OpenBrIM community and enterprise clients.

##### Incubation

Upon board "Acceptance", the object enters a testing period generating review comments and discussion. Steps to achieve "Standard" status require passing criteria that the OpenBrIM Board determines.

##### Standard

When the set of criteria determined by the OpenBrIM Board is passed during incubation, the object achieves official "Standard" status and becomes part of the OpenBrIM Library.

##### Verified Quality

All library components undergo rigorous review and testing before standardization.

##### Community Driven

Standards are developed by actual bridge engineers with real-world expertise.

##### Always Updated

Components are continuously improved based on community feedback and industry changes.

##### Full Transparency

Open definitions mean you understand exactly what every component does.
